How to Become Happy

Finding Inner Peace

May 8, 2009 Kristen Lauter

The road map to happiness is sealed deep within the heart of all of mankind. To look elsewhere is to look foolishly, to seek without to find that which is within.

From unnecessary, elaborate purchases to expensive hobbies or destructive addictions, finding happiness seems to be a difficult task for all walks of life. Looking outside to solve and quench this perplexing dilemna and undending search is to run around in circles with no clear path in sight.

What Does it Mean to Be Truly Happy?

Receiving gifts, attaining wealth, and making sure all physical needs are overtly gratified are not what true happiness is all about. And although it may seem that money can buy happiness, rest assured that it can cause complete chaos and havoc as well.

Not all wealthy people are happy people. It is equally true that not all happy people are wealthy. Same is true for having anything in excess; fine foods, material items, gifts and gadgets are not the source of true happiness either. So, what is? Surprising to many, the answer lies within.

Within each and every being lie the answers to all of life’s mysteries, challenges, and yes, the true cause of happiness. When the desire is there to turn inward, the key is found. Once the key is found, doors begin to open. Once the doors begin to open, the answer to attaining true happiness is understood.

It is finding inner peace that supersedes the physical and raises one beyond the state of happiness into that of joy where true understanding is met.

Steps to Finding Inner Peace

Inner peace comes from expressing personal truth, and allowing the highest aspect of self to shine forth. Following these few key steps can mean all the difference in the world where attaining inner peace is concerned:

  • Know that there is more and more to learn about self. Have the desire to be open to learning and ask for assistance from higher realms.

  • Trust that the request has been answered and look for signs of its manifestation in life.

  • Expect the best.

  • As Mahatma Ghandi said, “Be the peace you wish to see in the world."
Fidning Happiness Thruogh Relaxation

Spending time relaxing the body and being present in the now will bring a sense of neutrality. Reaching a state of neutrality in this way aligns self with the divine presence within.

When aligned with divine presence within, inner peace takes over and raises the bar above and beyond any measure of happiness.

Ways to Be in the Now

Meditation or spending ten minutes each day in quiet contemplation raises frequency. Spending time in nature or with a pet, doing something relaxing will also bring on the sense of being in the flow of now.

Accepting all that is with non-judgment, allows for inner peace to flourish and grow. Trusting in nature and developing a knowing that all is well, creates more experiences for wellness and balance.

True happiness then is more than has been experienced by the masses. True happiness is attaining inner peace at all times no matter what the circumstance.
