If you need to find your passion to act in any part of your life, use these activities to summon the energy to act with strength and conviction.
Before you notice either the shape or size of an object, you are likely to notice its color. Red seems the epitome of the standout color as it proclaims action, strength and passion on its behalf. Decorating and Dressing in RedIf you have been feeling low of energy and mood, and doctors have ruled out physical and mental ailments, bring red into your surroundings for a boost to your emotional and physical energy. Since red is a dramatic color, encompassing both love and rage, you may want to consider how you use it in your surroundings and on your person. In The Magician’s Reflection: A Complete Guide to Creating Personal Magical Symbols & Systems (Llewellyn Publishing, 1999), author Bill Whitcomb cites research into the color that it can “…increase blood pressure and speeds up respiration and heart rate… the metabolic rate of a human being increases by more than ten percent” – all this from simply looking upon the color red. With this in mind, notice how red affects you in small quantities, if a red scarf or tie boosts your energy in a positive way, then a shirt or dress may prove too overpowering for you. If burning red candles doesn’t provide the improvement you a looking for, placing red flowers in a red vase may increase your energy. If at some point, the object becomes the subject of irritation, set it in a closet or cabinet to tone down the energy. Also consider using colors that will support your passion such as orange, yellow, and green. Radiant Color TherapyIn How Psychic Are You? 76 Techniques to Boost Your Innate Power (Penguin Books, 2002), author Julie Soskin suggests using a red light for no more than 14 minutes a day to improve your circulation and to energize. She also suggests avoiding this activity if you have hypertension. Set a red light bulb into a lamp that you can place on the floor. Remove your shoes and socks and sit on the floor with your bare feet in front of you. Direct the light onto the center of the sole of one foot. After seven minutes, shift the light, focusing it on the sole of the other foot. Write a Therapeutic Poem that Will Energize YouStart each line of your poem with the words, “I am red. I am _____.” Try to write 15 or more lines to this poem, which will push you from the obvious observations to deeper insights. One shortened example of this poem is: "I am Red. I am the warning of the stop sign. 'I am Red. I am the apple of knowledge. "I am Red. I am the heat of passion. "I am Red. I am the blood boiling in your veins." Read your poem each day, preferably aloud, to focus on the energies of this dynamic color. Just as with a personality, a color’s symbolism is not flat or one-dimensional. Although you may find some aspects of red more positive than others it is worth remembering that by focusing on red, you are accepting its myriad physiological, psychological, and metaphysical qualities. Contemplate bringing the color red into your life in ways that enhance its positive emotional connections.
